Batch Update Locations

Update locations for multiple devices in batch.

Server-side shift enforcement:

  • Device must be enabled (is_active)
  • Shift must be active, OR timestamp falls within past shift window
  • Only device owner can upload locations (BYOD security)

Mobile sends at most 50 points for one device at a time. The outer 10-device cap bounds workspace/device locks; metadata shares the import route's 16 KiB cap and accepts at most three nested containers.

Exact-fix retries reuse their deduplication receipt for at least 48 hours after processing. A fix without a timestamp has no stable identity, so a retry of it is stored again. Clients must stop retrying or age out buffered points before that window ends; retries after 48 hours can be admitted as new fixes and charged again.
